Privacy Policy

Swipe privacy hero

Swipe is an independent digital magazine run by me, Tom Rolfe. I care about privacy, and I don’t want Swipe to be an annoying place to visit. This policy covers the website and the app. It’s short because there isn’t much to say!

The website

  • No tracking. There are no analytics, tracking pixels or third-party cookies, which is why you never see a cookie banner.
  • No ad networks. There are no pop-ups, autoplay videos or other annoyances. Any sponsored content is clearly labelled.
  • Newsletter. If you sign up, I store your first name and email address and nothing else. The newsletter is sent using Hostinger Reach, which stores those details on my behalf. I only use them to send you the newsletter, and I never sell or share them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Hosting. Like any website, our host keeps basic server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. I don’t use these logs to identify or track anyone.

The app

  • I don’t collect your data. The app doesn’t ask for an account, and I don’t store personal information about you.
  • Subscriptions. Purchases go through Apple. I use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, which links an anonymous ID to your purchase status so the app knows what to unlock. It doesn’t include your name or email. RevenueCat’s privacy policy
  • Notifications and settings. I use Google Firebase to send push notifications and to update app settings remotely. This involves an anonymous device identifier and nothing personal. Firebase privacy information
  • Apple. Payments, downloads and your App Store account are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Your rights

You can ask what data I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, at any time. Email tom@swipemag.app.
